Districts and Data Privacy

School systems have a legal responsibility to protect students’ data privacy and security. Therefore, each school system has determined which digital tools are safe and allowable to use with students. There are many innovative tools available, but you must be sure that any tool you want to use has been approved by your district.

Districts may have contracts with certain companies, especially if a tool is going to be used across the district and/or is essential to the curriculum. You will be encouraged to select these tools first. Often, students will be able to access these tools through a one-stop dashboard like Clever or Classlink.
